Pet & Child-Friendly...The Christmas Cactus

There are several stories about the Christmas Cactus but, one of my favorites is about a Jesuit missionary by the name of Father Jose. Father Jose lived in the jungles of Bolivia. He tried to teach the natives of Bolivia about the Bible, He became overwhelmed by the enormity of this task since the natives did not trust him. He prayed to God for guidance. The next day he heard the villagers singing a hymn that he had taught them. The village children marched into church carrying armfuls of beautiful flowers for the Christ child. The flowers became known as the Christmas Cactus.
