About your Rattlesnake Plant - Rattlesnake plant (Calathea lancifolia) is a decorative perennial with strappy, spotted leaves and deep purple undersides. It is known as an air-purifier. Child and pet-friendly. A member of the Prayer Plant family, their leaves close overnight and wake (open up) with the sunrise.
Size - Medium-size. 10-14" tall (including pot)
Light - Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Morning sunlight is fine, but it’s best to avoid intense afternoon sunlight. Growing rattlesnake plants thrive in warm rooms where temps are consistently above 60 F. (15 C.).
Water - Water every 1-2 weeks. Allow soil to dry out above 50% between watering. Watch for burning and browning along leaf edges. This condition is generally caused by uneven watering, intense sunlight or excessive fertilizer.
Preferred Rooms - Perfect for the bedroom, living room or home office.
