About your Calathea Musaica - Calathea musaica called (Goeppertia kegeljanii) combines stunningly intricate foliage, and easier care requirements than many other Calatheas, making this a wonderful houseplant to grow. Child and pet-friendly. A member of the Prayer Plant family. They raise their leaves at night like prayer plants. In the evening, the leaves of calathea plants fold upright at the base of the stem, as if the plant is folding its leaves upward to pray. This process is called nyctinasty.
Size - Medium-size. 10-14" tall (including pot)
Light - Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Morning sunlight is fine, but it’s best to avoid intense afternoon sunlight. Growing rattlesnake plants thrive in warm rooms where temps are consistently above 60 F. (15 C.).
Water - Water every 1-2 weeks. Allow soil to dry out above 50% between watering. Watch for burning and browning along leaf edges. This condition is generally caused by uneven watering, intense sunlight or excessive fertilizer.
